wonder
A wonder. How I survived my younger days. Seriously. Living in a family with a dad who behaved and is still behaving like a dictator, a mum always naggy, a brother who I wasn’t dat close to till upper sec sch n jc days and a sis who always somehow managed to get on my nerves. I really wonder how I survived those days. Looking back, I could have fallen into bad company and turn out to be a rebellious and who knows what I will do in those rebellious teenage years. I could have committed suicide over the numerous times I quarrelled, or rather, scolded by my father, esp during the JC days when I was super depressed over my results and everything that I could have been depressed about. I could have become super rebellious and go out every day, every night but I didn’t. Somehow, I managed to be able to tahan everything and stay obedient, going back home after school straight everyday if there’s no other activities on. At most, just a trip to the library at the mall or walk around the mall if I do feel bored. However, no matter what, I would be able to reach home by 5pm if there’s no cca. A wonder. And the number of times that I went parkway during my 4years in tkgs were at most 10, inclusive of after training trips on Saturdays. And less than 5 times to orchard too. JC days were a period of depression/disasters where everything just don’t work out. Apart from the fact that I made a group of good friends in HnF. Tests and exams – no matter how hard I studied, how hard I practiced the questions, I just can’t pass them with ease. I still remb end of year 1, during promos, how hard I studied for my worst sub – phy. Spent the most time on it studying – at least 3 full days, and yest I still terribly badly for it, having a mental block on the day of exams. Year 2 was spent mugging maths and bio terribly. Esp bio. I remb I spent one whole month on homeo and ended up neglecting other topics. How smart. Those were the depressing days when no matter how hard I study, I just cant get the desired results. It didn’t help that dad wasn’t understanding at all. He didn’t see the effort put in at all – those times I spent during my free periods and after lessons in the study room/gym/library/concourse just to study…I nearly did stupid things. A wonder. N my best results? A B grade for maths in prelims and an A grade for A levels. To think I got 90 over for my A maths prelims. A wonder.
