SHL game!

hmm shall blog one now. supposed to be doing project now. but oh well. i haven get the latest version yet. cant do anything also.

SHL 2nd game played. 3rd game by right but as mentioned before, 1st match was walkover. i played the whole game. felt back towards christine who insisted i played cos she thinks i have the advantage or rather she has a disadvantage if she plays. oh well, i shld had insisted she plays. HAIZ. anyway, it was one of the best matches that i had ever played in.

this game was against team allianz. supposedly one of the better teams - they have val, evan, stace, martina, celia etc. though they had only juz nice 7 pple on sat but val, stace, martina and celia were playing lor. they are still a strong team dat u cant overlook. However, that's on paper - the ball is also round and nothing is confirmed unless played. No one expect RH to hold TH gals to a 8-2 score and yeah this shall be the last time i'm gg to mention this..haha. so here we are NUS team vs team Allianz.

First half started wif some nervous moments for nus, wif drop balls, mis-comm and mis passes. I let in 2 stupid goals. yeah i noe. haha..2 soft goals from the right wing which i noe i usually wont let in. a bit jittery for all of us too. but fortunately, we managed to settle down and start on our business. it was a tight 1st half with both sides returning the ball into the opponents' net every time a goal is scored. Some ambigous calls by the expat ref, gave andrea a 2-min in the 1st half and a few penalties against us. and i had the 'luck' to be keeping against these penalties. I tried to fake val into shooting the wrong side but hell i decided to change direction before she shoots n damn, i was wrong! in the end cld only manage to get my hand to the ball but not enough to push it out. haiz. another few penalties wif the opponents either shooting straight at me or out of target. we had some penalties too n managed to convert some of them. :) a few fast breaks n interceptions which we managed to convert. In the end, we ended the half 4-4.

Second half proceeded with both sides' keepers making saves and of course wonderful shots by nus players and haha..a few shots by the alliance team players. wonderful defense by my nus gals managed to break down the team alliance's attacks and gd attacking plays allowed us to take the chance to convert and go into a lead. (yeah!) heh. Being a team with very tall players and shorter than average players, team alliance were shooting the top of the net. and we came up wif a way to counter their attacks/moves/shots. all of us were staying low. we were playing 5-1 to tire them out. and it works! kudos to the ones who came up wif these ideas. of course i was the one reminding them constantly on court heh when defending. i guess my shouting helped a bit..oh ya i let in another stupid goal when i went too far out to support, allowing the right opponent winger to yet score again wif a lob. though i let in more goals in this half, i think i did better for the 2nd half then the first. so did my team's defense.
there were actually more penalties in this half. hah. and i managed to stop at least 1 or 2 of them wif one of these penalties taken by martina, the one they called damn gd de. haha. actuali was quite high le. n quite on form, stopping quite a number of 9m shots from martina, val n stace. so got a bit nervous when keeping agst martina. but heck, i managed to stop her!!! i think it was instinct that make me go right, that make me move fast enough to block out her power shot. =) was quite relieved when i saved dat penalty yeah! if not, cld have do a little damage to team morale. but dat save actually was quite impt! i think it pushed up our morale, dampened their morale as i heard that martina lost confidence in taking penalties le. so quite happy heh(in the sense dat i made the save. not dat now she wont take penalties). heh but i muz agree dat martina is damn gd n pia. she did quite a number of 'qies' and typical pivot shots. i reali admire her for dat. oh well, i guess i'm juz lousy at 6m shots la. haha. gotta practise more lor. :) yeah the goals i let in, apart from 3 stupid soft goals, most were 6m shots and penalties. dun think i let in any 9m shots. =) yeah

siqing did well as the 'fish'. managed to intercept a few balls and disrupt their plays. she lasted the whole game too if i'm not wrong. andrea was on form today too. scored quite a number of goals. defence wise was gd too. =) not her fault dat she necked stace. haha. tough gal!. huilin too was impressive today. few gd goals and penalties taken. gd n tough defence. gd combi n support also. think her mo qi wif qing is getting there le. weiling is damn gd wif her recovery also. always one of the first few to run back when opponents got the ball and wanna do fast breaks. gd cut ins and gd goals scored! :) then of course got the wingers - del and yiying. though del only played a half, but she was gd at taking her chances. i think she scored ard 1/2 goals. great right wing shots dere. yeah! and yiying, though she had a lot more chances but scoring only a few goals, she impressed me wif her never say die attitude and kept on trying. her defence is gd toO! :D heh. and of course there's always the always reliable yan! haha. her 6m defense is reali tough and gd. the pivot who came in was reali defended well wif her. think she gets wat i'm trying to say when i said there's gap here and there. =) her pivot shots are getting better too! n of course my fellow keeper christine who i 'hai' her to not play on sat. still feeling bad abt it. :( oh well, shall let her play more for next match! hee. she's my ever reliable 'coach' haha. teach me watever to do to counter the shots n stuff! =)

oh didnt mention who wasnt ard, mostly the FYs - dawn, shuyi, candice, janice and andrea. the FYs busy wif their deadlines while jan injured n she had family stuff on. not sure abt andrea but i think she got stuff on too. hope to see them down on tues! last training before exam break! got last match on coming sat too. impt game! =) hope all can be down! yeah. haha. getting rather high now though i got 2 submissions tmr. haiz.

next match is against chevron. very very strong team made up of kr alumni who won the hball gold few yrs back. strong 9m shooters and have pple who can cut in and shoot too. has versatile players too. has very gd defence too. i guess even their weakest link is not dat weak too. has stamina too. tough! cld be a very tasty preview of a potential final?? heh. very daring prediction sia. ops. :P looking forward to it! :)
